July 1 at 11 a.m. (PST) we can begin placing orders from the AMAZING 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog. (The link will work on July 1.) Since I’ll be on a family vacation and then headed to Convention, the best way to place an order that you just can’t wait to place should be ordered through my website. I’ll have very limited e-mail access beginning tonight through July 16 so it may be a day (or more) before I’m able to place an order received through e-mail or respond to e-mails.

I’ll be hosting the new catalog open house on Saturday, July 23, from 3-6 p.m. at my home. (Club orders that are due in July will be placed at this event.) Come and see the beautiful new catalog! Two cards will be available for you to make. See the fabulous swaps I receive at Convention. Everyone receives a gift at the door and will be entered into the drawing for six door prizes. Bring a guest or two. Of course I'll have the RETIRED $10 stamp sets available for you as well.

Scratch & Sniff Card

One of my favorite techniques to use with the Tart & Tangy technique is the scratch & sniff technique. You make your own smelly embossing powder by adding kool-aid powder (no sugar added) to about 1 teaspoon of clear embossing powder. Mix together and you have YUMMY smelling embossing powder. For this card, I stamped the orange in Tangerine Tango ink on Whisper White cardstock. After the ink is dry, color over top of the stamped image with a Versamarker. Pour over the smelly embossing powder and heat. Ta-da! You have a fabulous smelling card! Just a few more days left to order retiring stamps & accessories! Order your supplies here.

Ink: Tangerine Tango, VersaMarker

Sunset Surfer

I love creating scene images when stamping. I saw a similar idea for this card on our demo website. You start by stamping the surfer with Staz-On ink on Glossy White CS. DSP strips

When I was looking for ideas for my masculine stamp camp, I came across a card on our demo website where the DSP was cut into strips and then re-arranged on the card to create a new pattern. This was my attempt at that card. I only had monochromatic paper that was striped but I still like the effect. It's fun to create something new :)

Snowboarder

Dave took our son snowboarding for the first time in Feburary. I had bought this stamp quite awhile back and now I had an excuse to use it. I saw a card very similar to this on our demo only website and knew I had to create this card for my masculine stamp class in May. J.R. told me that I could definitely make him a snowboarding card for his birthday in November. I was a little sad when the retirement list came out and all of the extreme sports stamps were on it. So glad that I already own them all :) Get yours before it's gone! (The birthday greeting on this card is also retiring...one of my favorite greetings stamp sets All Holidays.)

Order your supplies here.

Trees Reflection

Lovely as a Tree is a stamp set that is a regular in the stamp catalog. I know that it came out just after I became a demo. I love that it's so easy to use...it makes great masculine cards. It seems to be my go-to stamp set when I need a masculine stamp set that's not sports related. This technique is easily done by stamping the image on a window sheet and then rubbing the window sheet on your cardstock to create the reflection image. So much easier than use a solid stamp or the brayer. It creates the perfect reflection image. Order your supplies here.
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Pear Pizzazz, Confetti Cream
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Chocolate Chip, Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, Marina Mist
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Accessories: Window Sheet, Sponges, Baker's Twine, Modern Label, Word Window Punches

Monograms

For a couple months, my friend Emily has been putting together some monogram cards. We made a package of 10 cards (2 of each card.) Here is just a sample of two of them. Most of the DSP that we used was retired so it was fun to use some paper that we hadn't used in awhile. They all turned out beautiful!

Happy Graduation!

It seems like graduation is just around the corner for many seniors. This card could either be used as a card or a gift card holder. Perfect graduation cap created with the square scallop die. The tassel is created with a brad and shredded grosgrain ribbon. What colors do you need to make these graduation caps and tassels?

Baby Shower

Over the shower, I hosted a baby shower with a couple friends for our friend. Of course, I had to use stamp supplies to create a few decorations. This name banner hung on the patio in the colors of the evening... The take-out boxes that the guests filled with candy needed a little something added to them. Although the alphabet stamp set is retired, it gave me a GREAT excuse to use one of my all-time favorite alphabets :) Of course since it's all punched out, they came together VERY quickly...
Our friend had seen a family tile at another friend's house and had asked about it. I told her then I would make her one when she had her little guy. Figured it would make a fun decoration and gift for the mother-to-be.
It was a great night with very yummy food and awesome friends!
