World Card Making Day Challenges

I thought it would be fun to create a little challenge to get your creative juices flowing for the day. In this post, you'll find three different challenges. You can complete as many of the challenges as you would like. I have a prize for each separate challenge. Please send me a picture of your creation OR send me a comment with the address of where your creation is posted. The first challenge is to create a fall card.

You may either use fall images or fall colors to create your card. It can be Halloween based if you would like. I opted for a simple pumpkin card. I stamped the pumpkin in VersaMark and then daubed the pastels over the versamark to create the central image. If you enter this challenge and your name is selected using a random selector, you'll receive a brand new Cherry Cobbler ink pad...perfect fall or Christmas color :)

The second challenge is to create a card using only colors in the Neutral color family.

I created this card using Basic Black, Crumb Cake, and Basic Black DSP. If you enter this challenge and your name is selected using a random selector, you'll receive a package of 8 1/2 x 11 OR 12 x 12 Whisper White cardstock (your choice)

The third challenge is to create a holiday card.

I had a STRONG desire to use a USU BLUE after the victory over BYU so I used Night of Navy and Basic Gray to create this Christmas card. I can't get a good impression of the Letterpress on the bottom of the Basic Gray. Right now, I'm LOVING using the Letterpress plates without any ink...it's definitely more my style :) After I stamped the greeting and tied the ribbon, I spritzed the entire card with shimmer spray (hence the weird looking splotches.) If you enter this challenge and your name is selected using a random selector, you'll receive a brand new Snowflake punch (it has the whale-tail handle rather than the new style of punch)

All entries must be received by Saturday, October 9, at noon (EST). Winners will be posted that evening, and prizes will be sent/delivered the following week. Happy Stamping, Friends!

Dynamic Duos--Challenge Thursday

Today's challenge is to create a project using "dynamic duos." Here's a sample card...I created this card using Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke. Try a project today with two shades of the same color. I love this project even more because it doesn't use a "lighter color" like white or vanilla. Be sure to leave me a comment with a link to your dynamic duo project! :)

Lucky Me!--Challenge Thursday

Sorry for the late post today...sick kiddo! These pictures are from last year's St. Patrick's Day fun. The kids loved dressing in green, eating green food, and trying to catch leprechauns with their leprechaun traps. Although they didn't catch any leprechauns, they were just as excited about the gold coin candies that were left behind instead :) I just used two pieces of Certainly Celery CS for this page. I cut 12 squares that each measure 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". I used a sponge on each square. Most of the squares I ran through the Big Shot with a Texturz Plate and then sponged on some more ink. I love the look of this page. Here's your challenge...take the "square" challenge and complete a page using squares. You can use more or less pictures for the squares...have fun and remember to leave me a comment if you complete the challenge so I can have a peek at your work!

Scrapbook Page Recipe: CS: Certainly Celery; Ink: Certainly Celery; Stamps: Full Calendar, Calendar Alphabet & Numbers; Accessories: Pretties Kit, Jumbo Eyelets, Heart-to-Heart Punch, Big Shot, Texturz Plates, Impressions Pad, Silicone Rubber Pad, Crafter's Tool Kit

Challenge Thursday--Firsts

Today's challenge is a fun one...scrapbook a "first" and/or use a new product for the "first" time. This page does both. This was a picture take in Aug. 2006 when Sierra received her first haircut (she's probably only had one other haircut since then). This was the first time I ever used my new fleurettes. I LOVE them! They are so cute! Challenge yourself to scrap a "first" or use something new you have for the "first" time :) Post a comment here so I can see your project! Have fun!

Page Recipe: CS: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Bella Rose DSP; Stamps: Schoolbook Serif Alphabet; Ink: Riding Hood Red; Accessories: Fleureetes, Glue Dots

Challenge Thursday--Collage Scrapbook Page

My BIL and his wife challenged me a few weeks back to a "collage" scrapbook page. I have actually really been looking into this type of scrapbook page for Sydney's scrapbook. I saw something similar in Creating Keepsakes magazine awhile back and LOVED the idea. So what I'm aiming for is one collage page to match her monthly calendar page. I've only done one page so far...but I love it!

Try out this challenge for one of your memories you want to scrapbook...you'll love the results!

Challenge Thursday--Progressive Scrapbooking

We all scrapbook different size albums at times. One of the quickest ways I've found to switch in between sizes is to do progressive scrapbooking. At last weekend's workshop, one of the make-n-takes was this fun 6x6 scrapbook page.

I then showed it bumped up to an 8 1/2 x 11 by just adding some sponging on the Whisper White edges and adding a die cut title.

Lastly, I showed it put on a 12x12 page by stamping the left edge and adding 3 square pictures.

Give it a try and let me know how it works for your scrapbooking!
