Challenge Thursday--Song Title

Today's challenge is to use a song title to inspire your project. Of course, it was easy to use as a title for a scrapbook page.

It worked perfectly for these pages from my grandpa's funeral. It's exactly what I wanted to say..."I Will Remember You." Be sure to comment on this post when you take the song challenge so I can be sure to see your work! Happy Thursday!

Cello Bag Toppers

Sorry for the late post...I have a sick little lady today. I'll spare you of all the yucky details. Last night I attended a women's church event where we made treat baggies to share with those whom we love. Lucky for me, the lady who did the event loves Stampin' Up! so I was able to create with paper and stamps.

I just added four cookies to each baggie (which were delicious!) and then folded over the top of the cello bag. I cut the Designer Series Paper (it's retired paper) at 4"x4", folded it in half and then adhered it to the top of the cello bag with adhesive. The only punch that was available was a 1/16" punch so I opted for the hemp twine in the one I punched holes and ribbon around the other one. The tag was stamped in Chocolate Chip ink and punched with the Tag punch, punched w/ the 1/16" punch, and tied on with hemp twine. All finished! Super easy project...but very fun to give to those I love :)

Birthday Wishes

Today is our niece's birthday. Since her birthday is close to Valentine's day, I pulled out my "Happy Heart Day" and came up with this card from scraps on my desk:

Since this is Technique Tuesday, I'm teaching how to add a little sparkle to your projects with a 2-way glue pen! I love how easy this technique is....stamp your image, apply 2-way glue, and then dip in Dazzling Diamonds glitter (or any glitter of your choice)...and you're done! Add some glitter to your project today!

This box is die-cut into three pieces and you just stick them together w/ sticky strip. I've decided that for sure I'll do the Box #2 for the kids' valentines just because they're quicker to assemble. :) For this sample, I lined the outside with DSP, stamped the scallop flap, and added ribbon...how simple is that!

Challenge Thursday--Circles

Last night I gave the new circle scissor plus a try! My first tip is to make sure you adhesive down your paper to the glass mat. There is no way you can cut a circle without applying adhesive. I love how smoothly and quickly this circle cutter works. Once you have the adhesive applied, the cutter glides very smoothly.

This was my first attempt at using the circle cutter. I love how easily you can adjust to a size smaller to get perfect mats!!! This is the Level 3 Hostess stamp set Goody-Goody Gumdrops. I stamped the owls and greeting with the stamp-a-ma-jig to be sure they all fit in the circle. I watercolored the images using an Aquapainter and only one color...Going Gray. I love the "sketchy" look of the image.

My goal (again) for the year is to get more scrapbooking done. I had hoped to complete two pages a day...but that's obviously not going to happen so I'll aim for five a week and then just be extra happy if I get more done a week. This is the first scrapbook page I used the Circle Scissor Plus on. I love the theme of circles on this page. As long as I used the adhesive, it cut perfectly through my pictures and cardstock!

Birthday Beauty Thanks

Last night I needed to do Sierra's thank you cards from her birthday. I wanted to use my new "eyelet border punch" so here's the card I came up with.

I love this Birthday Beauty stamp set...even though, it's retired. Lucky for me, one of my customers owns this stamp set and let me borrow it. The eyelet border punch is super easy to use. It seems easier to line up with the front markings than the scallop punch...but I do love them both!

Technique Tuesday--Texturz Plates!

Welcome to the first posting of technique Tuesday. I'm going to try and post a new technique every Tuesday. Some weeks it will be a technique...other weeks it will be a product-focused technique. Yesterday I got my NEW Texturz Plates. Oh, my!!!! I'm in love! They are awesome. All the cards I did last night HAD to have these texturz plates used on them some how!!!

They are super easy to use with the Big Shot. Here's the sandwich I used: Multipurpose Platform, Texturz Plate, Cardstock, Silicone Rubber, Impressions Pad...BEAUTIFUL!!!! Check out page 203 in the catalog to see how fun these new texturz plates are. This card uses my favorite new stamp set "Thoughts & Prayers" found on page 58. I love that ALL stamp sets are now die-cut! How nice is that?!?! :)
