January...Hogle Zoo

Almost every year, I make my mom and my mother-in-law a calendar for the coming year for Christmas. I try to use as many pictures from the year as possible. So for the next couple of weeks I'll be showing you these pages. I scanned each page so sometimes it caught off an edge or two but you get the picture for the most part. I try to use current product but sometimes I need a different alphabet stamp or different patterned paper. The alphabet on this page is a retired alpha set.
We'll start with my mom's calendar. This is January:

Kid creations!

Here are a few of the kids' creations for thank you cards. Some had already been given away before I got a picture of them.

This one was made by JR & Sierra for Mom & Dad (do you see the M and D?) :) It even had the cutest note written in side...definitely a keeper!

How creative is this one to make a bow for the top of the card?

I love how this one was modified to have a back page...just add staples backwards :)

The picture doesn't really show the creativeness in this card....the front square it actually cut out so it pops out at you like a spring. It was so fun to watch the kids create without me telling them what they can and can't use :) Too precious!

Snowy Tree

I think the hardest part for me living where we live now is no snow! There are some days I wish I could wake up to a beautiful coating of a white blanket on the ground. This is the last card I made for my friend. They really enjoy snow skiing so I knew this card would be perfect. The tree is stamped on glossy cardstock. After the ink drys, use a white crayon to create "snow" on the tree. Tear a piece of scrap paper and layer on the bottom of the tree to create a "snow bank". Ink brayer with ink and brayer over top of image. Wipe off excess ink and remove scrap paper, and you've created a snowy card. Order your supplies here.
Cardstock: Brocade Blue, Glossy White Cardstock
Ink: Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, Brocade Blue, Gold Encore
Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Four the Holidays (available until Jan. 4!)
