Celebrate Your Birthday!

Again using the catalog for inspiration, we created this card.  The inspiration is found on p. 28.  We created two cards using this same layout, but I accidentally saved over top of the other card so you'll just get to see one of the cards :)  I see a lot of use in this layout!  The best part is that it's another simple card!

Christmas Tree

It was tradition in my family to cut down our Christmas tree on Thanksgiving morning.  You never knew how much snow you would have to walk through to find the perfect Christmas tree.  It was always great fun.  We never set up our tree that early because the tree had to defrost for a few days (or even a week or two) before we could bring it in the house.  This card base was created using the scallop square die.  Just fold your CS in half and lay it on top of the die just below the scallops.  The hemp twine got squished down in this picture but the card does have a "Merry Christmas" greeting stamped on it :)  Order your supplies here.
Cardstock:  Always Artichoke, Confetti Cream
Ink:  Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip (markers used for the tree)
Stamps:  Lovely as a Tree, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Scallop Die, Hemp Twine

Impressed Embossed Hearts

This is a fun technique I've seen recently.  You use the Square Lattice die to not only emboss your card front but to impress punched images onto your card front as well.  I found it makes it a bit easier if you attach the hearts with just a bit of adhesive so they don't move once you put them in the Impressions Folder.  This was a birthday card I sent at the first of the month.  I've only tried it with the Square Lattice die so far...but I plan to try it with come of the other Impressions Folders soon.  Order your supplies here.
Cardstock:  Whisper White, Melon Mambo
Ink:  Melon Mambo
Stamps:  Occasional Quotes
Accessories:  Polka Dot Melon Mambo Ribbon (retired), Heart-to-Heart Punch, Big Shot, Square Lattice Impressions Folder

Fabric Fun Again

I love the fabric pins so I HAD to come up with a card that would allow the flower to be removable as well.  I attached the fabric around the card front and tie the side with the crochet trim.  I tied the flower on to the fabric as well with the same crochet trim.  Makes it perfect for a gift card :)  Order your supplies here.

November is another CRAZY, busy birthday month for us so when I had my supplies out for yesterday's card, I couldn't help but think about how I could use the same design for a birthday card.  This card is for my SIL.  She loves Halloween so it seemed like it was an obvious choice to use this leftover piece of DSP from the Halloween paper pack Wicked Cool.  I spritzed the crumpled flower with Vanilla Smooch Spritz to add the perfect glittery effect with the glitter brad!  Order your supplies here.
