Technique Tuesday---Faux Stitching

If you've ever stamped with me much, you know that one of my VERY favorite techniques is "faux stitching." It's so simple that I probably use it way too much. Just grab your foam mat, paper piercing template, and paper piercer...and pierce away!!!! Then just "connect-the-dots." I love to use my white gel pen...but I've also used my markers to create a "colored" line. Very fun! Give it a try today!

Dynamic Duos--Challenge Thursday

Today's challenge is to create a project using "dynamic duos." Here's a sample card...I created this card using Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke. Try a project today with two shades of the same color. I love this project even more because it doesn't use a "lighter color" like white or vanilla. Be sure to leave me a comment with a link to your dynamic duo project! :)

Magic Wheel--Technique Tuesday

Friday night club members made this fun project with the Texturz plates on the background of the card. We used the "magic" technique on the wheeled flower image. Wheel wheel on Glossy White CS in versamark ink. Pour white embossing powder over image. Heat. Cool. Get a drop of rubbing alcohol on cotton ball. Place two drops of each color of ink on alcohol on cotton ball. Dab cotton ball on glossy cs. After all color has been added, heat with heat tool again. Give this technique a try and leave me a comment so I can check out your creation!

Green Sour Cream Container

Today I'll show you how I went from this paper....

to this fun sour cream container...

Start with a piece of light-colored cardstock (I used Very Vanilla) that measures 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". Put some shaving cream on a paper plate. Add about 3-4 drops of 2 different re-inkers. On this project, I used, Kiwi Kiss and Certainly Celery. Stir the shaving cream and the re-inkers lightly (don't mix too much...you want the swirl lines). Push your cardstock on to the shaving cream. Make sure all of the cardstock has touched. Put cardstock on a flat surface and wipe off excess shaving cream. Let it dry a minute or two. Put two strips of sticky strip on one of the 4 1/4" edges and roll together with the other end (somewhat resembles a toilet paper roll at this point). Push together one of the edges and crimp the end with the crimper. Insert a treat into the container. Push the other ends together (opposite direction of the first side) and crimp those ends also. Stamp a tag and attach to one of the crimped ends. Hope you've enjoyed these green projects! Be sure to leave me a comment if you've made your own project from anything I've showed you this week...I would love to see your creations!!! :)

Good Luck Ghosting

One of my favorite techniques is the ghosting technique. I started this card by stamping the greeting in Green Galore on Glossy White Cardstock. Then I stamped the shamrock from "Holiday Blitz" in Versamark randomly on the Glossy CS. I let it dry just a minute or two and then brayered Gable Green across the entire Glossy CS. Wipe off any excess ink with a paper towel and assemble the card! Easy-peasy! Just one more St. Patrick's Day creation to share with you! Have I mentioned that my favorite color is green? Maybe that's why I actually enjoy celebrating with the kids for St. Patrick's Day! :)
Card Recipe: CS: Green Galore, Gable Green, Glossy CS; Ink: Green Galore, Gable Green, Versamark; Stamps: Sincere Salutations, Holiday Blitz; Accessories: Brayer, Green Galore Grosgrain Ribbon (retired)

Lucky Me!--Challenge Thursday

Sorry for the late post today...sick kiddo! These pictures are from last year's St. Patrick's Day fun. The kids loved dressing in green, eating green food, and trying to catch leprechauns with their leprechaun traps. Although they didn't catch any leprechauns, they were just as excited about the gold coin candies that were left behind instead :) I just used two pieces of Certainly Celery CS for this page. I cut 12 squares that each measure 2 1/2" x 2 1/2". I used a sponge on each square. Most of the squares I ran through the Big Shot with a Texturz Plate and then sponged on some more ink. I love the look of this page. Here's your challenge...take the "square" challenge and complete a page using squares. You can use more or less pictures for the squares...have fun and remember to leave me a comment if you complete the challenge so I can have a peek at your work!

4-Leaf Clover

I love the new Heart-to-Heart punch so I decided to make a 4-leaf clover with the punched out hearts. I've made clovers using heart stamps so I figured this would be fun to try. Since my order of new DSP comes today, I had to scrounge around from some "green" paper from my stash. I found this piece of Always Artichoke that was in last catalog's Hostess 6x6 packet. I thought the design would be fun for a 4-leaf clover. So I got it all pieced together and then pulled out my stamps for a St. Patrick's Day stamp. Guess what?!?! I don't have any that are current. So I figured this greeting would work instead :)
Check back every day this week for a new GREEN project :)
Card Recipe: CS: Kraft, Always Artichoke, Patterns Pack DSP; Ink: Always Artichoke pad and marker; Stamps: Hugs & Wishes; Accessories: Metallic Brads, Paper Piercer, Heart-to-Heart Punch
