Spring Break Journals

YEAH! We're on spring break for 2 weeks! This morning the kids made these fun journals to document all their fun. Inside are clear envelopes so they can slide in their writings and drawings from the next two weeks. Each kid's personality totally shows through on their covers.

Sydney is a total princess so the "Princess Time" stamp set was perfect for her. She insisted that everything be pink...definitely easy enough with Pretty in Pink, Pink Passion, and Sending all my Love DSP. And what's a princess without some sparkle so we added some Champagne Mist shimmer spritz.

Sierra has decided that blue is now her favorite color (for some reason it's not cool to like pink anymore) so Bashful Blue fit the bill. Punches are definitely her favorite thing to use...Scallop Circle, Lg. Star, and Lg. Heart punches are definitely her favorites. The "Holiday Blitz" stamp set had every stamp that she could want for her background.

J.R. is definitely all boy. But he couldn't just use the "Extreme Skateboard" stamp set as is...he had to jazz it up by drawing directly on the stamp with the markers. He loves to be classified as an inventor...so I thought that really shows how much his mind is CONSTANTLY going!

Can't wait to see what they write about in their journals each day of our adventures together.

Korker Ribbons

My girls have a few of these barrettes and ponytail holders that I bought from a friend last year. The girls constantly fight over the ones we have so it was time to do some research on how to make them. I figured I have the supplies so I might as well get busy! I now have about 10 new matching barrettes and 5 new ponytail holders with plenty more korker ribbon waiting to be made into more barrettes and ponytail holders. So fun to make matching hair accessories. I'll be adding these to the list for the projects available for the April class. When Sierra came home from school and saw them, she IMMEDIATELY put them in her hair. She was so excited for new hair accessories. Order your supplies here.
Accessories: Grosgrain Ribbon :)

Pink and Black Rag Quilt Purse

I'm so excited about this purse. It only took me three hours from start to finish. It probably would have been faster if I was a better with my sewing machine. I bought more material to make another one (need one that has brown in it) so I'll be busy making another one as well. I've decided to use the scraps to make the girls little purses, too :) The part I don't like about sewing is the cutting of the fabric. The Big Shot is AMAZING with cutting fabric...so each of the squares are cut with the scallop square die. Love that the purse is reversible if you want it to be. I added a snap enclosure on the inside of this purse but the next one I think I'll do it so the scallops are in and the finished edge is out. Are you interested in making one? I'm considering offering these as an option for our April stamp camp. If there's enough interest, we could do a class of just purses and have a BIG sewing party :) You don't have to be an seamstress to make these. I don't sew much at all, and I could do it. Order your supplies here.

Love Birds

As Emily and I stamped together this past week, she was creating a gift for a friend. Besides a name frame, she wanted to create a set of cards for her. This is one of the cards we came up with. The idea from the card was inspired from my monthly magazine I receive from Stampin' Up! We decided to make it a wedding card. So fun how it turned out. One more reason I'm glad I own the bird punch :) LOVE that we could coordinate the Bride Paper to completely match our project! Order your supplies here.

Two-Toned Crown

Before we rushed out the door to a birthday party, I threw this card together. It's definitely my go-to stamp set when making birthday cards for young girls. Luckily, it came together quickly and matched the present "Pretty, Pretty Princess game" PERFECTLY! Order your supplies here.

Joining Stampin' Up! with the Inkin' Empire Group!

Have you ever considered becoming a demo? I can't believe that I've been a demo now for 5 1/2 years. Can't believe that I GET paid to make crafts. The best part and I know that my husband agrees I haven't spent a penny of "family" money to support my addiction to paper crafting. Right now is the PERFECT time to become a demo...whether you are doing it to make a little extra income to support your habit, to get a discount on your Stampin' Up! purchases, or to make an income that will help support the family. The thing I love about Stampin' Up! is that it's totally up to me with what I want to do with my business. I've found what works best for me and for my family and that's what you get to do, too.

When you become a demo before the end of March, you'll receive the most bang for your buck. Right now the starter kit is being offered at 15 percent off PLUS you'll receive an additional stamp set for FREE...you choose the stamp set from the catalog. The total cost of this kit is $169 What's even better is that you have the option of purchasing the "Digital+Starter Kit" which includes your very own copy of "My Digital Studio" software and the EXTRA stamp set for just $157. Cupcake Birthday

This card idea came from the monthly magazine I receive as a Stampin' Up! demo. The cupcake is stamped on Whisper White cardstock and then cut out. It's colored in using the aquapainter and reinkers. The icing on the cupcake was created by inking it with versamark and then pouring on heat and stick powder. Tap off excess powder and heat. Pour Dazzling Diamonds glitter on top. Tap off excess and heat a little bit more with heat tool. I added a little more dimension by putting Tombow over the stamped sprinkles and then pouring micro beads over. Order your supplies here.

Posey Birthday

This card is created with the Pinking Hearts Border Punch. I punched three corners of a piece of cardstock, cut them off, and attached them to the back of the stamped image. The posey was created by punching out the circle, scrunching up the cardstock, and then separating the layers. I attached them together using mini glue dots. Order your supplies here.
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Cameo Coral
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Stamps: Well Scripted
Accessories: 1", 3/4", 1/4" circle punches, mini glue dots, pop-up glue dot, Sweet Pea Stitched Felt, Pinking Hearts Corner Punch

Posey Flower Box

This box came together very quickly. Just cut out the Fancy Favor box using the Big Shot, tied the grosgrain ribbon around, and added a layered punch flower. I used Michelle's idea to create the Posey flower. The flower has a felt look to it in person. Since you separate your cardstock into two pieces, you can create two flowers with one piece. See my card tomorrow for the 2nd project I made. Order your supplies here.

Of course, they also use the bird punch that I said I wouldn't own...ha, ha, ha! Love it when I find a use for something I've told myself I don't need. This is one of my favorite projects currently. We'll be making a double-decker birdhouse at stamp camp next weekend :)
