Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to friends and family near and far

To us, each of you is like a bright shiny star

For our family the year 2011 exceeded the fun bar

Trips and adventures were taken not just in the car

Summer took our family to upstate New York

Church sites & Niagara Falls filled us to the cork

Hawaii is where Dave & Jenn ate pulled pork

Snowboarding, surfing, wake boarding, and

water skiing were attempted with a little torque

Sydney is the sweet number four

Preschool has become her 3-day chore

Art, Polly Pockets, and Barbies leave her asking for more

Each day she leaves us guessing what’s in store

Sierra is exploring how it is to be almost eight

Recess and her teacher are what make second grade great

Soccer, playing school, dancing, and singing are all first-rate

She’ll be baptized in February…seems like a long wait!

J.R. has just reached a full decade

Soccer, cub scouts, and running he won’t trade

Science and math help him love fourth grade

On to the next adventure he does persuade

Jenn has found time quickly ticking

Stamping and volunteering keep her clicking

Primary President makes her brain keep picking

Water damage to the floors have left her kicking

Dave has found an eternal lack of time

Life continues to be one long climb

He wishes he was just teaching a nursery rhyme

Surfing in Hawaii was sublime

Remember to keep the Savior near.

He’ll keep you in the clear.

May you be blessed in the coming year…

Filled with lots of joy and cheer!

Love, Dave, Jenn, J.R., Sierra, and Sydney Hurdsman

Thinking of You

Sometimes a card can be just this simple...embossed cardstock with a little bit of Designer Series Paper and a few punched out pieces of cardstock.  I'm in need of some quick thank you cards.  I will definitely be using this card sketch and ideas for those quick cards!  I'm also super excited about today's digital downloads.  You can see them here.  My favorite of these is the Quinceanera Stamp Brush Set (129020) for just $3.95.  So many times people have asked about this stamp set...now it's available as 6 digital images for all of your crafting needs!!  You can order digital images only through my website (click the "Shop Now" button).  The best part is there is no shipping since you download the images directly to your computer.  Happy Craftin'!

December News

Hi Stampers,

Hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving with those you love.  Our Thanksgiving was great…the week before…not so fun.  We came home from church to a flooded kitchen (our water line came disconnected from the back of the fridge somehow) which means we have since had to take out our kitchen floor and part of our carpet pad in our living room and hallway.  In the drying out stage of it all, part of our wall between our living room and kitchen also had to be removed.  Definitely fun times at our house!  J Needless to say, life is never uneventful.  Despite my lack of a kitchen floor, I still plan to offer two classes in December.

Thursday, December 1, 7 p.m. Technique Night.  Create two Christmas projects.   Fee:  FREE—Stamp Club Members; $7—Customers/Guests (FREE when you place a $40 the night of the class)  RSVP by Tuesday evening.

Friday, December 9, 7 p.m.  Stamp Camp.  We’ll be creating 6 simple neighbor gifts.  All supplies will be provided including envelopes.  Fee:  $20—Stamp Club Members; $25—Customers & Guests  ($5 off when you place a $40 the night of the class).   RSVP by December 3.  Must have 4 or more guests RSVP’d by December 3 to have this class.

Please RSVP as soon as possible for either of these classes so I will have adequate time to prepare.

The Online Extravaganza is still going on.  These products are available at a discount through November 30.  If you haven’t already ordered from this special, take advantage now!

Now through December 15, you’ll receive $35 of additional hostess benefits when your party reaches $350.  Now’s the perfect time to take advantage of extra hostess benefits.  Contact me today to schedule your stampin’ party!

Amongst all your Christmas cards, be sure to watch for your copy of the Occasions Mini towards the end of December.  It’s awesome!  Sadly, we’ll have to say good bye to the Holiday Mini so be sure to look through it once or twice more to see what else you must have from the Holiday Mini.

Happy Stampin’!

Glitter Gifts

Do you wrap your gifts as soon as you finish up your shopping on Black Friday?  It seems like I wait for a week or two, pull it all out, and wrap it at once.  Then I know if I'm missing something for someone :)  This idea for the glitter gifts has been circulating all over the internet so I had to try it out.  So fun!  My only tip is to be sure to have the glitter paper glitter facing down when you punch out the "bow."  The extra pieces won't get stuck in your punch so bad then :)  Order your supplies here.
Cardstock:  Real Red, Whisper White, Glimmer Red, Glimmer Silver

Fall Harvest

One of my favorite techinques is with the versamark ink and the pastels.  On this card, I did the Poppin' Pastels technique using a wheel.  I inked an uninked cartridge with a versamark refill and wheeled a wheel on the cardstock.  The pastels are sponged on top of the ink using sponge daubers.

Happy Halloween!

Hope you have a haunting day!  I know I've been MIA for the past two weeks.  Life has been busy is a bit of an understatement.  It would probably be quicker to post the things we haven't been doing the past month...it would be a much shorter list.  But it's been GREAT!  Wishing you a Happy Halloween!  Check back tomorrow for the November's news!

Halloween Bag

This is another size of our fabulous cello bags.  These are 3"x5" bag.  To add something to the bag, I rolled this wheel on the white staz-on pad and then wheeled it on the bag.  You have to do it carefully so it doesn't smear.  It's so fun to add a little something extra!  The topper is cut out with the Big Shot using the Top Note die and then embossed with the spider web embossing folder and spritzed with the Shimmer Paint Mist (shimmer paint mixed with rubbing alchol and spritzed).  It's so sparkley!!!

Twisted Flower

I decided to do something a bit different with this card and "twist" my layers rather than putting them straight.  The card looked okay straight...but it needed something different :)  I colored the baker's twine to match by laying the twine on my ink pad and using a sponge to push down on the ink pad as I'm pulling the twine through the ink.  Fun to have matching twine! :)  Order your supplies here.

Sad News

Stampin' Friends, I have to share some sad news. Our friend, Emily Wilson, passed away this morning. She'll truly be missed.  I know that we all looked forward to seeing her at every class.  I'll keep you updated on her services. At Saturday night's class, we'll be stamping a stack of cards for her family to use at this time made in her favorite color of purple.  If you haven't previously let me know you're coming, you're welcome to join us...even if you just want to stamp for Emily's family :)  Love you all!

ETA...Her services will be held September 22 at the LDS church building across the street from Mt. Miguel High School (contact me if you need an actual address).  A viewing will be held at 10:00am and funeral services beginning at 11:00am.

Baby Rattles

Stamping the baby rattles in three different colors and then adding the matching button is so easy with the Button Buddies stamp set!  The centers of the buttons are tied with the baker's twine!

A Pig Kiss

I'm finally getting around to posting the cards from my Button Buddies class last month.  This is such a fun set to use.  I love using buttons on my card so it makes it even better that the stamp matches the buttons perfectly!  Order your supplies here.

Paper Lolly

Another fabulous technique that the Simply Scored tool helps you create is this fun paper lolly. I've made lollies before but just with my scoring blade on my paper cutter. So much easier with the Simply Scored tool! I love it :) Order your supplies here.
