Kid creations!

Here are a few of the kids' creations for thank you cards. Some had already been given away before I got a picture of them.

This one was made by JR & Sierra for Mom & Dad (do you see the M and D?) :) It even had the cutest note written in side...definitely a keeper!

How creative is this one to make a bow for the top of the card?

I love how this one was modified to have a back page...just add staples backwards :)

The picture doesn't really show the creativeness in this card....the front square it actually cut out so it pops out at you like a spring. It was so fun to watch the kids create without me telling them what they can and can't use :) Too precious!

Snowy Tree

I think the hardest part for me living where we live now is no snow! There are some days I wish I could wake up to a beautiful coating of a white blanket on the ground. This is the last card I made for my friend. They really enjoy snow skiing so I knew this card would be perfect. The tree is stamped on glossy cardstock. After the ink drys, use a white crayon to create "snow" on the tree. Tear a piece of scrap paper and layer on the bottom of the tree to create a "snow bank". Ink brayer with ink and brayer over top of image. Wipe off excess ink and remove scrap paper, and you've created a snowy card. Order your supplies here.

Ink: Garden Green, Chocolate Chip, Brocade Blue, Gold Encore

PINK ornament

I did a special project for a friend again this year. I created four cards for her to use on her kids' Christmas gifts. These cards measure 4 1/4" x 4 1/4". She loves having me make these cards for these special gifts so they stand out. Since I know her kids very well, it's always fun to personalize them just a bit. This one is obviously for her daughter...couldn't resist the pink & brown with sparkle! Any of these cards would work for Christmas thank you cards as well! Order your supplies here.

Glittery Ornaments

For this month's demo meeting, I decided to make these glittery ornaments. I absolutley LOVE how vibrant they turned out this year. I squeezed about 10 drops of reinker into an ornament and then added about 1 TBL (maybe a bit more) of water. Be sure to wear gloves on both hands...or else you'll have a hand that looks like you lost a battle with the ink. Swirl the color around until the inside is coated with the color. If you're creating more than one ornament w/ the same color, pour the liquid into another ornament and repeat....otherwise, just discard the liquid. Pour matching colored glitter into powder pal tray and then pour into ornament. Shake glitter around until inside is completely covered. Dump any excess glitter back into the powder pal tray. Ta-da, you have a BEAUTIFUL ornament in just the color you wanted. :) Each glitter container that SU! sells makes about 4 glitter ornaments....so plan accordingly.

Reinkers: Red...Real Red, Blue...Bashful Blue & Brillant Blue, Gold...More Mustard & Barely Banana
Glitter: Red...Fine Galaxy Red, Blue...Fine Supernova Aqua, Gold...Fine Galaxy Gold

Treat Plate

A couple weeks ago, I became very intrigued with glass etching. When I realized I could do it very easily with my Big Shot and the Decor Element sheets, I set to work. Aren't these so fun?!?! I thought they would be the perfect gift to give a plate of goodies on for the holidays. So...while my mom was here, we were very busy prepping her Christmas gifts :) I had to teach my clubbers how to do this technique at our last technique night. Everyone loved how their plates turned out. I'll show you different plates the next few days. This plate was created by using the actual letter on the backside of the plate. Order your supplies here.
Accessories: Big Shot, Décor Elements Sheet, Bigz Dies (Serif Essentials Alphabet), Etching Cream, Sponge Brush, Rubber Gloves, Plate

Directions: Sandwich for Big Shot: Standard Cutting Pad, Bigz Dies, Décor elements sheet cut to fit die (if using alpha letter die, color side up), Standard Cutting Pad. Attach décor element to underside of plate (either the image or the reverse image). Put on rubber gloves. Daub on etching cream with a sponge brush over the décor element. Let set for 5 minutes. Wash off etching cream with running water. Peel off décor element and wipe dry.

Christmas Postage Tag

Some of you have asked to be reminded of how to do the faux cracked glass technique. I made this card as a 3x3 card to be used as a tag. Stamp the stamp in Chocolate Chip ink on Very Vanilla CS. Punch out using the 1 1/4" square punch. Ink the CS with Versamark. Put square in Powder Pal tray and hold with craft tweezers. Pour over Glassy Glaze Enamel Embossing Powder. Heat with heating tool. Add another layer of Embossing Powder. Heat. Add another layer of Embossing Powder. Have the Sanded background stamp all ready in Chocolate Chip ink and while the embossing powder is still hot, stamp over the embossing powder. Punch out a 1 3/8" Chocolate Chip CS square. Adhere to stamped image. Stamp the background stamp on the Very Vanilla CS card front. Tie Chocolate Chip grosgrain around the card front and attach stamped image using dimensionals. Order your supplies here.
